London Landmark visit

One of the highlights of our Spring curriculum is a journey around London, where adults and children use building blocks to create Tower Bridge. So, what better way to end our 2025-26 programme than with a team outing to the iconic landmark itself!

Thanks to the generosity of City Bridge Foundation , who have supported Brighter Together over the past 3 years, our Session Facilitators and volunteers were treated to a visit to this historic site. We had a wonderful afternoon with the team enjoying the views from the bridge, followed by a picnic by the river.

The Big Give Week

OneRichmond Charity Dragon’s Den

The inaugural OneRichmond Charity Dragon’s Den was hosted at The Exchange in Twickenham in June, showcasing local charities focused on tackling social isolation. We were incredibly proud to stand alongside so many charities making a real difference to people’s lives across the borough.

We were were absolutely overwhelmed that Brighter Together received funding from all four Dragons! What made the evening even more special was the support from our team, care partners and wider community.

A huge thank you to OneRichmond for organising the event, and to the Dragons – Lord John Lee of Trafford, Chanade Ramsay from Kier Construction, Will le Fleming from Thomas’s College, and Sylvia Parsonage from Parsonage & Co – for their support.

Finalist in National Care awards

We are proud to have been recognised as a Finalist in the national Markel Third Sector Care Awards, especially in the category that celebrates collaboration. The award celebrated organisations that are working with businesses and communities to develop relationships.

We had a fantastic day, and it was great to hear about all the incredible work being done by organisations across the UK.

Support from Navera Investment Management

We are incredibly grateful for a generous donation from Navera Investment Management. Their wonderful team raised funds for Brighter Together as part of their January Charity Challenge, where employees took part in weekly Mind, Body & Soul activities. 

Thanks to their support, we can now fund an entire year of an intergenerational project, which will bring young children and older people together each week to create connections that light up lives.

Support from The First Friday Lunch Club

We are grateful for a generous donation from The First Friday Lunch Club, organised by the Kew Community Trust. Based at The Avenue Club in Kew, The Trust makes a vital and positive contribution to the lives of many people across the local area.

Their kind support enables us to provide supplies for our Brighter Together sessions each week at The Avenue, where young children and older adults come together each week to build meaningful connections.

Community Group of the Year Finalist

We’re proud to share that we’re a finalist for the London Borough of Richmond’s Community Group of the Year award.

The award we were shortlisted for recognises projects or initiatives that achieved a significant, measurable impact on the local community and the lives of residents.

A huge thank you to the amazing partners who support what we do each week. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together across the borough.

Teepa Snow Dementia Training

In January, the Brighter Together Session Facilitator team – joined by some of our wonderful Trustees and volunteers – came together for Teepa Snow dementia training. This was a brilliant opportunity to deepen our understanding and help build practical skills to support people living with dementia.
